I have been glued to the pictures of the newly wed royal couple on their first official visit to Canada. Of course I am really interested in the whole trip but what really interests me is what Kate has chosen to wear. Kate is already beginning to make a bit of a name for herself as a Style Icon and whilst she insists she doesn't want to just be viewed as a clothes horse, she is doing an amazing job of wearing just the right thing. Kate has already developed her own understated and very elegant style which is so perfectly fitting for a Princess. Her knee length dresses by some of her favourite designers are mixed up with plenty more affordable high street clothes making her style accessible even to those on a budget.
For me the trip to Canada got off to the perfect sartorial start when she stepped off the plane in a dress by my favourite designer, Canadian born Erdem. She also managed to recycle that beautiful white Reiss dress that she wore for her official engagement photographs. This time she refreshed the look by adding some fabulous statement accessories a red maple leaf hat and maple leaf brooch lent to her by the Queen for Canada Day. It is great to see that Kate is setting such a great example after all it is much better for the environment to wear your clothes more than once.
Other great dresses that she has worn so far include a stunning purple jersey dress by her favourite label Issa and a bird print dress by the label. I can't wait to see what she chooses to wear for the rest of the trip.
